K1 Powers First-Ever Guns N’ Roses Show in the Caucasus
For the first time ever, the legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses performed in the Caucasus region, marking a major milestone for the local live music scene. The inaugural concert took place on a repurposed parking area near the village of Shekvetili, which was transformed into a fully equipped, open-air venue to host the more than 17,000 fans who attended the event. This large-scale concert was a significant undertaking for Starring Georgia, a leading regional concert promoter and rental provider, which aimed to deliver a world-class audio experience despite the challenging environment.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was to provide full-fidelity sound to a massive audience spanning a nearly 200-meter-long audience area, all while contending with unpredictable weather conditions. The venue, an open-air space, offered no protection from the elements, which included both sun and rain. Starring Georgia required a sound system that could deliver stable, high-quality performance across the entire area while also withstanding the rigors of a large-scale outdoor event in fluctuating weather conditions.
The Solution
Starring Georgia made a significant investment by acquiring the first L-Acoustics K1 system in the Caucasus region to meet the demands of the show. This state-of-the-art system was immediately deployed for the Guns N’ Roses concert. The main system featured two arrays, each comprised of four K1-SB subwoofers, 12 K1, and four K2 for nearfield coverage. To ensure consistent sound for the audience across the entire venue, the system also incorporated KS28 subwoofers and outfills built with K2. Additionally, 12 K1 and two K2 were used for the delay towers. The entire amplification system was powered by LA12X amplifiers, housed in LA-RAK II AVB, and managed by a P1 processor at the front-of-house.
The Result
Despite the challenging weather conditions, the new L-Acoustics system performed flawlessly, delivering a stable and powerful audio experience for the more than 17,000 enthusiastic fans. The successful deployment of the K1 system not only ensured a smooth concert but also established a new benchmark for live sound production in the region. This event demonstrated Starring Georgia’s commitment to providing global-standard infrastructure, paving the way for more international artists to perform in the Caucasus.
